Do you know who made the most moist blueberry muffins in the whole wide world?
According to my husband her name was Nanna.
We own her dining room table and I am giving it a refreshing new look.
I bet the seat upholster looked amazing in the 70's. I would have loved to decorate a house during that era.
THE BEFORE
I headed over to Joann's and picked up a red tag fabric for $8. Great bargain 6 chairs for 8 bucks. Can't beat that!
My fool proof way to recover a chair is to remove the material from the old chair and use it as a pattern.
With a template you cut the perfect amount of material for the seat.
What I learned from putting the material back on is, it is best to fold the material in on each corner of the seat (like I show below). Fold all four and staple them into place. Then fold the sides in and staple. This way you avoid ripples in the material and material folds on the side of the seat.
THE AFTER
I think Nana would be happy to see we are putting her dining room chairs to good use.

Great job! I love them!!!

They look fantastic. You did a great job picking the material. Great price too!!! ~~Sherry~~
ReplyDeleteI think Nanna would be pleased, too...great job! Hopped over from Savvy Southern Style!
ReplyDeleteThese chairs are very similar to those my bf has that belonged to his grandparents. I'm just not sure what fabric to use for the seat, but like your choice.
