WOW it got a little scary around here on Tuesday night. My husband was taking the garbage cans to the end of the driveway (garbage pick up was the next day) and he said the sky was a greenish-yellow and that it was extremely windy. He was talking about how strong the wind was because all the neighbors garbage cans were knocked down.
Two seconds after he said that the TV screen flipped to a tornado warning and the power went out. The tornado siren started blaring so I grabbed my son out of bed and my husband got the dog and we all headed for the basement. Then we heard a huge thunk and a loud scraping noise.
After 10 minutes I went to get my phone to check the weather report and get an update. All was clear.
What was the thunk and scrap?
This tree branch. Our trees were lucky but the neighbors trees were not as lucky. All I have to say is thank goodness that the tornado that touched down two blocks from our house hurt no one. It just left us with lots of tree debris and a huge power outage.
Mother Nature you are a mystery to me.

Oh, scary! Glad no one's hurt! Tornadoes come through here all the time, and it's never fun.
ReplyDeleteIt was crazy!! We just got out power back on this morning... We bought a generator yesterday and had us and our 2 neighbors hook up the fridges which we alternated with the sump pump every few hours. Happy to say their were few casualties in the frozen goods department...we had a HUGE grill partay last night and fed the neighbors! :)
ReplyDeleteHow scary glad wasn't too much damage x
ReplyDeleteDorothy & Toto caught my eye...love that movie!
